If you have the universal wedge installed currently and you are happy with how it fits the hitch and the ease of connection to your hitch when hitching up then you are totally fine to stay with what you have now. If you want something that is going to probably fit a bit tighter to the hitch head which would translate into less noise when travelling and also might be a little easier to hitch up to then the custom wedge part # C16992 would be a worthwhile upgrade. view full answer...
There should be a sticker or a stamping on the OEM pin box of the 2001 Forest River Salem that will list the number pin box that is on the trailer.
If you cannot find the number you can use the measurements of the bolt holes of the pin box to determine which one you have. I attached an FAQ on how to do this for you to check out also.
